EARLY MORNING IN NORTH CAROLINA

Earlier this year I was visiting my son who was graduating from Marine Corps boot camp. I was excited to take the trip, as I have always wanted to visit the coast of North Carolina. I booked a hotel in North Topsail, near a golf course. At this time of year in January, there wasn't many people.

I was only staying for a couple of days, so I decided to get up and out early and go for a walk. On my way to the bridge that would take me to the beach, I was taken back by the expansive view of the marshes and the reflections from an amazing sunrise. I didn't have my tripod with me, but knew the Fuji XT3 would be able to capture the colors that I was seeing. Rich oranges and purples against a soft blue backdrop. The reeds and trees offered a nice textured contrast.
